From Spencer's consistent world-building and adding more mystique to the story, to Eisma's quiet depiction of a love-making scene, the emotion is running strong and Morning Glories fans are sure to be pleased, but newer readers may want to stay away from this issue for now. Read Full Review

Joe Eisma again puts out the same solid artwork that has driven this series from the beginning. There is a stark, uncompromising focus on the characters that never shifts away, but with such character-centric writing, it would be hard to imagine it looking any other way. He handles the buildup to the "coming out" reveal with a tickling excitement found in a teen TV show like Degrassi, but expertly brings the visual tone back around to the horror roots that make the series so gripping. Although the issue doesn't really move the plot forward it does cement a couple of important points (other than Jun's sexual preference). One, we know Jun isn't alone working for Abraham. An entertaining and intriguing addition to the title, Morning Glories #18 is perhaps the most fun issue the book has had amongst the usual spate of gloomy inevitability and murderous conspiracies. Definitely warrants a buy from fans of the series! Read Full Review

Okay, first things first, I love the reveal that Jun is gay. Jun was probably one of, if not the most boring student in this series, so him being gay, and having a lover in Guillaume actually makes him into a more complete character, so I liked that a lot. Story-wise though, this issue was kind of everywhere... Sure, the character development with Jun was great, but I have NO idea what was going on with Guillaume, or Zoe, or, well, anything else. But here's hoping that gets fixed up some the next issue, which is the conclusion to this storyline. Read Full Review
