As with last issue, Fingermans artwork, dialogue, pacing and story are all pitch-perfect. Though some of the dialogue appears to be referring to past occurrences current readers may not be knowledgeable of, its of little concern, as they do nothing to derail the current story but probably enhance the experience of longtime readers. The writing for this works well, I have to say, it really reminds of the old one. I am kind of sad that the Rob has to keep going through rough things, however, I have to say it does work because that is the point of this comic. This book is never going to be a huge seller for Image the way something like "Saga" is, but it's a wonderful way for the publisher to expand their library, adding variety and layers to an already impressive line. "Minimum Wage" is a great book to round out that line as it's got its roots and influences easily traced to the best of indie comics. It's slightly aggressive and cringe-inducing in its portrayal of reality, but all in the best of ways. Read Full Review

The best thing about Minimum Wage #2 is the genuineness of it. And even if it isn't completely authentic, Fingerman makes it work within the boundaries of his story. Fingerman's story rings true for his characters. Rob may be directionless right now and his relationship/sex life with May feels that way as well as even after spending the night together, Rob ends up finding out things about May that he has trouble processing. Bob Fingerman takes the risqu magic of the old underground comics shows us that it can still be revealing in 2013. Read Full Review

I'm enjoying the hell out of this book. I just went on Comixology and bought the collection of the original series. It's Peter Bagge meets Harvey Pekar meets Alex Robinson. If you don't know who the people in the last sentence are, you won't like Minimum Wage.
