The quote on the cover of the book (which came from my review of Hoax Hunters #6) says, "a comic on the verge of greatness" and I stand by that claim and truly believe it. At this point the book only has a couple of things holding it back, mid-level artwork, and characters that have yet to be fully realized. If those two things can be attained, I believe that Hoax Hunters could become one of Image Comics' more popular titles. Read Full Review

This issue isn't without problems and the biggest one is the art. Axel Medellin starts off awesome and then completely falls apart. The beginning of this issue looks amazing; the structure of each page is exciting and engaging. The characters look slick and the world is rich and detailed. By the end, things start to look awkward and rushed. The exciting layouts become paneled pages of the characters just staring at you at eye level. It's a bummer, because the end of the book is when the story really starts to ramp up. Hopefully, Medellin can rally and pull it together for the next issue, because it seems like Hoax Hunters is headed into really interesting territory. Read Full Review

I can't say for sure if this is something worth reading from the beginning, or if it'll even be worth reading in a few more issues but for now I'm looking forward to seeing what came before and what's coming next. Read Full Review

I was more surprised by this issue than I was the last one and while I’m not running out to get Hoax Hunters tattooed on small of my back, I’m glad that I gave this series a second chance. I still think that it has a ways to go to live up to its potential, but it’s heading in the right direction. If you jumped on the series with the last issue like I did, then be glad that you did. If you missed the issue then you should get caught up so you’re not missing out. Also the American Nature story at the end is quite hilarious so be sure you read that as well. For more on American Nature you check out our review of their free issue. Read Full Review
