Sep 16, 2026Exquisite Corpses: Fox Mask Killer #1 is a compelling, action-packed origin story that gives Naomi Yatsurugi meaningful depth without diminishing her lethal mystique. Che Grayson’s emotionally grounded script and the striking work of Adam Gorham, Jordie Bellaire, and Becca Carey make this a strong opening issue that should satisfy longtime fans while giving new readers a reason to follow the Fox Mask Killer’s story. This is one of my favorite comics of the week and should be on the top of everyone’s list when they visit the shop this week. With so many awesome covers to choose from it makes it hard to just grab one copy. Make sure to add this series to your Pull List and update your LCS of which covers you want to collect. Che Grayson digs into the sacrifices behind Fox Mask Killer's search for freedom, while Adam Gorham and Jordie Bellaire make her violent profession look appropriately brutal. The quieter stretch after the time jump lingers longer than necessary, but the cliffhanger makes clever use of everything we've learned about a woman who desperately wants control over her own life. You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff
Sep 16, 2026Well, the plant structure of the first issue feels a little bit disjointed, things should really settle in now, but the basic premise has developed itself. It's a firmly established where all of the stresses and conflicts are for the remainder of the series. And it's going to be a lot of fun see where it goes.
