Writer Zack Kaplan balances between pushing them down new paths and furthering the plot of the story. The artwork by Giovanni continues to be superb and pleasing to the eye. Eclipse takes its first steps as an ongoing series and sticks the landing. This is a solid sci-fi series where the sun is a monster. It's the villain out to destroy everything we hold dear. That would be enough on its own for a compelling story, but writer Zack Kaplan adds in another level of intrigue and mystery with a serial killer immune to the sun's effects and a far-reaching corporate conspiracy. Given how climate change is inexplicably a subject for debate in the U.S. (everyone else seems to have their shit figured out), Eclipse is a surprisingly topical book that has the potential to be a meaningful contribution to the comic industry. And if nothing else, it definitely entertains with a solid story and outstanding artwork. Read Full Review
