This is a title that will never take its foot off your throat. Even after achieving mainstream success and recognition and winding down its last epic Love Like Blood storyline. Like a tried and true hip-hop clich, it's on to the next one. The desperation of this issue seeps from the ink on every page. The genuine interaction and attention to detail between Saya, Quan, and the nefarious Kenji are a delicious feast of crime storytelling. There is heart and humour spread throughout too, just to show you how capable it is of twisting your emotions into controlled submission. If you're looking for a strong issue of such a tightly-created comic book, issue 37 certainly is it. Read Full Review

Deadly Class is a brutally beautiful, vibrantly violent catastrophe ballet in which Remender weaves elements of high school drama, Gothic romance and Kung Fu Action theater to tell a story inspired as much by John Woo as John Hughes. Read Full Review

Deadly Class #37 exemplifies what makes this book so enjoyable, even if the art isn't as high as it used to be on every page. Remender can stuff much deft characterization into the book very subtly. Craig's art is a little rough in places but shines throughout the last two-thirds of the book. It's a shame that this isn't the Craig of the book's earlier days, but this one is a still a banger. Deadly Class #37 is a return to the fast-paced action that the series is known for. While it has some weaknesses, mostly due to Quan being a boring character, it is still a fun ride. Read Full Review

Deadly Class feels like it's really revving up towards the end as this issue is pushing to bring a character back. Hopefully, we'll see the surviving members of the students finally brought back together soon. Until then, fans will at least enjoy seeing Saya again as she makes her way back with Quan to finally escape from her captivity. Read Full Review
