Comic Bastards - Austin Lanari
Feb 24, 2016On top of everything else, this issue leaves the reader with a massive "OK; what the FUCK?" which is always nice. More than that, though, I think it leaves the reader waiting to see what other ways this creative team can succeed with this approach to storytelling. Read Full Review

Feb 25, 2016While the debut issue was all about laying groundwork, Cry Havoc #2 is all about expanding on the groundwork with a funny, blood soaked, and entertaining second issue. Read Full Review

Graphic Policy - Madison Butler
Feb 25, 2016All in all, the team on this book works extremely well in terms of art and writing. The idea of a threefold narrative colored by different people is a concept that could come off as gimmicky if done poorly, but this comic is not done poorly. Its engaging and fresh in both its writing and structure, and its definitely worth a read. Read Full Review

Feb 25, 2016Having already done a great job in introducing the book's cast last issue, Spurrier is able to further flesh out the eclectic band, with solid attention given to lead, Lou. There's some great character work at play here, particularly so given the leaps in time, and Spurrier's consistently strong dialogue goes a long way in crafting a distinct, immediate tone. Feb 25, 2016As disordered as Cry Havoc can be, it has a sense of holistic self-understanding. Every aspect of the book fits within its thematic structure, and every flourish is thoughtfully made. There's an active disorganizationof the story's beginning, middle, and end: it's a conscious deconstructionandrumination of traditional storytelling. There's something brilliant going on here. But it's only necessary thatwe remember that Cry Havoconly beginning. Only when it's donewill we be able toglean any meaning. Read Full Review

Big Comic Page - Ross Sweeney
Feb 26, 2016Overall, the series is proving to be very much a new breed of supernatural storytelling - in the vein of Underworld, but vastly more considered in the way that it grounds itself in modern political and social constructs, seeing fit to tear them apart using lycanthrope as its lense. Its most impressive feat is the fact that whilst most stories of this ilk draw from just one vein of vampire/werewolf folklore, this here draws from all of them at once. This creates a fascinatingly complex world, with a grim narrative that takes a surprisingly disturbing twist towards the end of this issue. Certainly worth a look, if youve the stomach for gruesome finales. Read Full Review

Mar 01, 2016I think it goes without saying that this is a series that everyone needs to check out, even more so if you’re a fan of werewolves. This is an amazing take on an old tale. It is written and illustrated with precision and creativity, making it look and read like nothing you’ve read before. Read Full Review
