Chu #7

The conclusion of Chu #7 launches the story on an entirely out of pocket tangent, and I am patiently waiting for the next installment of the madness. This does not occupy the same niche that Chew once did back in the day. Instead, it takes the food-related powers malarkey and delivers in droves of entertaining moments with its own ambitions that old fans will appreciate, and new fans will be able to latch onto properly. Chu #7 is another fun, entertaining, and engaging entry to the series. Saffron is well on her way to being a bonafide badass who seems to enjoy the thrill of being a criminal. Only time will tell if her confidence will finally meet its match. If you're looking for a comic that'll make you laugh while providing a hell of a good time, look no further than Chu #7. Chu #7 skews a bit further towards distracting here with several narrations which probably could've been nixed to let the artwork speak for itself. It does get points, however, for a truly unexpected ending. Read Full Review

Pretty solid issue with an ending I really didn't see coming. I'm still not 100% sold on Boultwood's art, through no fault of his own, although it has been growing on me the past couple issues. Guillory's look was so distinctive it's hard not to imagine what this would look like with him on pencils.
