We The Nerdy - Adrienne Crean
Nov 18, 2016Powell did a very good job, showing great creativity with different city, and landscape scenes. Also, being able to give that sketchy art effect, yet still having these characters have emotions and detail, are quiet entertaining. Chauhan did not move the beginnings of this comic too fast or slow, yet gave us enough detail, and mystery to keep readers guessing. I believe issue one sets up a great mystery for many readers, and will also throw in some educational lessons of the Yakuza as well. Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - Dustin Cabeal
Nov 16, 2016The story so far hasn't done much. I don't want to write it off completely, but given the fact that "Demons" and "Yakuza" are in the title, it's hard to believe that this book is going to do anything original based on what I've already read. It's competent, it's decently put-together, but the characters are unlikable, and there should be a better understanding of the story after this first issue, and there isn't one. If it's your cup of tea or you just like IDW, then dig in. If you're looking for something new and original, this ain't it. Read Full Review

Geek-O-Rama - Brian Belanger
Nov 19, 2016We've got Yakuza and demons, and a sought after sword which has now attached itself to Ochita. I can only guess this will turn out to be an all out struggle for survival, with the sword possiblybeing a key element. I wouldn't mind seeing a cool battle with demons, but I won't be fighting off hordes just to see the next book. Read Full Review
