  The only awkward thing about The Highways is how the panels are placed. It seemed atypical than what I normally read, and it was difficult to really follow along at first.   Florida Geek Scene - Shane Hannafey

  The art is very fitting of a science fiction comic. Some great outer space scenes, fun characters and exciting action scenes are penciled beautifully giving you a cinematic feel. This is a fun read and definitely worth picking up. Read Full Review

  There's nothing like a John Byrne comic to lighten up the week. Being a fan from when I started reading comics, it's always a treat to see what he comes up with next. This space story is easily accessible to anyone willing to give something new a try. The set up is well explained and as we get to know the main characters, we start to see there is something else going on in the story, paving the way for the rest of the miniseries. After reading this first issue I'm still not completely sure what Byrne has planned but that is totally alight. I love sci-fi and it's not often I can tolerate the bright colors of a sci-fi comic. The colors combined with Byrne's art works here. Now comes the hard part in waiting for the next issue. Read Full Review

  Multiversity Comics - Michelle White

  While it's anybody's guess as to how Byrne is going to flesh out a whole story with just three more issues to work with, overall, this is a campy but intelligent start to a brand new sci-fi miniseries. It's probably not for everyone " it is so very 80s " but it holds together well and looks great. Fans of Byrne's work should find plenty to enjoy here. Read Full Review

  In the hilarious dialogue of one of his characters, "Space law doesn't allow much wiggle room." Damn, confining "space law." Well, in the same way, good taste doesn't offer much wiggle room, either, and here, it's downright paralyzed. Like I said before, it's really fun to see John Byrne working in outer space, at least visually. I just wish his stories didn't exist in a vacuum these days, too. Read Full Review
