This is a great time to be a Ninja Turtles fan. We have not one, but two solid adventures from the classic franchise. The Nickelodeon show is shockingly good and thankfully the separate story unfolding here in the comics is every bit as enjoyable. IDW's reboot is a must read for anyone and everyone even remotely interested in the Heroes in a Half Shell. Do yourself a favor and get on-board now, then play catch-up with the TPBs. A bit of a narrative cop-out where the more complex material is concerned, but a thoughtfully written tale of turtle-vs-turtle conflict nonetheless. Art-wise, Dan Duncan is sorely missed, though his replacement puts up an acceptable effort. Read Full Review

Kuhn's pencils give some pages an almost Mignola-esque feel to them, and I am really impressed with the series and the stories it looks like they are wanting to tell. Read Full Review

The conclusion of the issue leaves Leonardo with some heavy soul searching and Michelangelo loosing another friend to the Turtles' dangerous lifestyle as well as a new team-up that could cause serious trouble for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when an injured Slash is found by their enemy Old Hob. Again I cant praise the artist enough for what hes brought to the series. He captures characters perfectly and all the action scenes are fantastic. Timing between panels and the layouts make for a smooth read. I loved the heavy use of black in this issue it set the tone really well. This is a fantastic series that only gets better and it is something I look forward to reading more than most comics. Everyone got a little piece in this issue, how the writers handle all these characters in one issue is an accomplishment in itself. Great work and a great issue.
