Since Sophie Campbell took over for TMNT, we have been absolutely spoiled with her amazing writing with the depth and direction she has given a beloved universe. A beautiful issue in every possible way, packed with big character beats and moments that will genuinely leave you with a lump in your throat. One of the best issues of IDWs ongoing TMNT series that Ive read in a long time, and in a world of uncertainty and anxiety, this is exactly the comic book that a lot of people need right now. Though I have had my ups and downs about different parts of different storylines, TMNT #104 continues to deliver a wonderfully emotional story. This issue finally brings the family back together and where it goes from here is anybody's guess? The art continues to be excellent, you really couldn't ask for better art in this series. A couple of weeks ago Sophie Campbell announced that she got the "pencils down" order from IDW. She also confirmed that TMNT was being put on hiatus due to the COVID-19 Pandemic for the foreseeable future. At first, I was hurt. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is easily my favorite ongoing series. After reading the issue though I had to concede that if the series ended in a month or two I be satisfied with this being the end of the title. This arc has turned into a fitting epilogue for these characters and it's hard to imagine our heroes being in a better spot than they are now. In this issue, we finally get the gang back together. We also see them make plans for the future. The story progresses and we get to see some of the most natural sibling interactions ever in comics. All of the conversations between the turtles are genuinely heartfelt and it really affected me by the end of the issue. The end of the comic doesn't feature a cliffhanger or fight with the Foot Clan. It features the team dressed in regular clothes and going to a concert in Mutant town. The situation is pretty mundane until you realize that we've never seen the turtles in a situation where they could mingle with a crowd of mutants and party. At this point, I felt really happy about these characters and their status quo. Sophie later clarified that the series would continue post-Covid but it's hard to imagine the series ending at a better point than it does now. That doesn't mean I never want to read a new TMNT comic but I don't want the series to run itself into the ground either. The Walking Dead had a perfect sendoff. The X-Men film franchise should have ended with Days of Future Past. We'll see where the dust and how the series continues from here but you've definitely never seen a TMNT story like this before. more

Solid issue, good to see the band back together. Although not as "amazing" as the expert reviews say it is, still kinda slow since issue 100 imo.

the Turtles finally pull their $#&% together and stop moping around. there's a lot of talking in this issue. i mean a LOT of it!! if you like melodrama, this is the comic for you. not much else happens, except Mikey finally finds his lost cat. so i guess that was nice.
