I wouldnt have thought this book could live up to the high standard the movie set, but both creators do a wonderful job of adapting the property to this new medium. One thing Clue #1 did right was make want to know more. Why did Mr. Boddy invite these people? Why was he killed? Does everyone have a shady history? Are they all being blackmailed? Is Communism just a red herring? While I would have liked more information in this issue, at least to help me care that Mr. Boddy was even dead or care about the characters in general, the pieces for a good mystery are there. I also liked the addition of Dr. Orchid and the two police detectives who show up after the murder. More characters hopefully mean more interesting stories to tell and plot points to weave together. The writers also manage to add in humor and jokes fans of the game will enjoy so I think this is a decent first issue and a series to keep an eye on as it continues. Read Full Review

Just when you think the story is over, after the last few pages of advertisements, it's made known an additional three pages has been added to each edition, and each variant has a different storyline. This is there way of getting readers to buy more comics and confuse you further about whodunnit. As much as I want to know where the story goes, I don't think I'm will to shell out the extra funds for even my favorite of comics. Read Full Review

I wouldn't call Clue agreat comic - at its essence, it's product placement wedged into a different product's form. It's at least readable, comical (there's a lot of metatextual humor with the Butler breaking the fourth wall a lot), and there's a mystery to be solved. The real test of future issues is whether readers will actually be able to play along as they can in the board game, or if the mystery is set in stone and the authors are waiting until the last page to pull back the curtain. At least it's different, so if you're looking for a lighthearted change from the superhero fare, this isn't awful. Read Full Review

Is this book a must read? By no means is that the case. There is nothing deep here happening. This is simply a prolonged gag stretched out for a full issue. Simply this is an example of a creative team doing the best that can be done with the material they were given. A pun-laden book about a board game could only last so long. Hopefully, its surprise success does not lead to an onslaught of board game related comics that no one needs. For now, lets just enjoy this for what it is. Read Full Review

I thought this was an ok start to a mini-series. I love the board game so I figured I would give this a shot. Is it a classic? Absolutely not. Is it a fun read? Most definitely. I think issue #2 will make or break this series.
