Jun 01, 2016With the finale up the next time around, The Spirit sets the stage well here. We get a few things drawn down and closed up, some nice moments that reinforces the period in a solid way, and the big reveal as to who Mikado Vaas is and why things are about to get truly serious. The book has played out well with the smaller stories within the larger one and everything is tying together really well here and has me excited and fearful to see how it will come to a close. Wagner completely gets these characters and how they should feel and sound while Schkade has been a true revelation here for me, making me crave a lot more of his work in the years to come no matter the property. Jun 07, 2016Will Eisner's The Spirit #11 also fills in a bit of story for Ellen who discovers who is behind the assassination plot on her father and why she may not have as much trouble dumping her fiance as she feared. I'd expect both stories to easily wrap-up next month as well. Worth a look. Read Full Review
