Sep 26, 2019Dynamite has worked a number of crossover concept miniseries in the last several years and this is one that didn't come together well in the first few issues for me even as I liked elements of it. With this issue it feels like it's finally firing in the right way and the unbridled joy of John Carter on Barsoom is electrifying. It's what the book needed before, though understandably it had to go through the chaos sown by the Martians as they invaded Earth. I'm still not down on how all of this is happening with two disparate things on Mars/Barsoom but I'm enjoying the big action focus here and just how crazy it gets as quickly as it does.
