The Silent Seven fight a war on multiple fronts. But if you follow the strings high enough, are Batman, the Shadow, and Robin still just puppets? Robin and the Shadow fight for their lives, while the actions of the Seven leave Batman unsure if he can trust anyone in his life, including himself. Three generations of crimefighting are deserted and alone, but if they can come together to finally confront the Seven where they live, is it their final victory? Or exactly what the Seven has wanted all along?

Infinite Earths - J.D. Jr.
Jan 26, 2018The penultimate issue serves as a shocking journey into the mind of a broken man haunted by his numerous failures and is easily one of the most intense and engaging reads of 2018. Read Full Review

Batman-News - Joshua McDonald
Feb 08, 2018The Shadow/ Batman #5 doesn't have the flare of previous issues, but it's not void of worthwhile content. Orlando and Timpano slow down their narrative to focus on the characters and their mental state before racing to a climax in next month's finale. Yes, the story takes a breath in this chapter, but it only solidifies and increases my expectations for what's to come! Read Full Review

Weird Science - Jeremy Daw
Feb 09, 2018The unevenness of this series continues and, although this issue ends very strongly, it drags for significant portions and features a Batman who is curiously uninvolved in much of the action. Always dynamic, Timpano's art is, at times, extremely powerful and none more so than in the final few pages. While by no means a classic, this is decent, solid story-telling that delivers a dramatic punch at the end that guarantees that this reviewer, at least, is looking forward to the final issue. The Batman Universe - Paul Shanly
Feb 07, 2018This story started off extremely strong, and while I do feel that they have had some trouble executing some of the more interesting ideas in the book, the series still has my attention, and I'm looking forward to the last issue and seeing how this story ends. Read Full Review
