I can't express just how much I enjoy Moritat's artwork on this. I've long been a fan of their artwork and designs and this one really feels so natural and realistic, especially with the color design Matt Carter brings to it. The book is, as I said, more verbose than a typical Sonja book and that's not a bad thing. It's adding additional color in good ways to it and the team definitely has the voice down right not just for Sonja but all of the cast. It's a delight to read because each issue offers multiple readings to isolate different elements and dig into. It's a great burn-through experience but then going back to savor the artwork and then going through the narration and dialogue more to connect it all together delivers a strong and worthwhile experience. THE INVINCIBLE RED SONJA #8 is a consistent entry in a consistent series. The writing and art are both skillful, but they lack richness or any standout details that would elevate this comic about average. Read Full Review

Ignore the low scores from the professional reviewers, this series is a blast and this issue is no exception. The sales don't lie in this case. Plenty of action and typical overblown HyboriN language plus some clever meta- commentary on Sonja's choice of armour. Moritat's art is really strong this month

This arc seems better than the first. The story is more interesting and there isn't as much fluff. The new land and people living there are also an improvement.
