Nov 19, 2012The Boys #72 delivers the perfect ending to one of the most epic superhero stories of the last decade. I wouldn't hesitate to rank this series equal to Preacher in a list of Ennis' best works. Read Full Review

Nov 11, 2012With every loose end tied up, I can't help but simply be speechless. For this comic series to be so extreme at some points, a nice, simple ending is all a reader could ask for. In the end, the simplicity of this issue really won me over. I will miss this series but of course, all good things must come to an end. I give it a 9/10. Read Full Review

Nov 13, 2012All in all, The Boys has been an excellent run and I'll be sorry to see it go. But it was fun whilst it lasted, and it made the impact it wanted too. Very few titles can say they've done that as well as The Boys. Read Full Review

Nov 14, 2012"The Boys" #72 is a coda and a simple one at that. Ennis and Robertson bring their book to a close and there are some familiar smiles to be had but this is far from the masterful ending I was looking for. The six-month gap in story allows for some easy transitions, but the pretty little bow of happily ever after isn't necessarily deserved. Ennis chooses to deliver a positive message over one that could have been more powerful. I wonder if he as a creator and we as readers will heed it. Read Full Review

Nov 15, 2012This isnt the most exciting issue. There are a number of moments that will elicit a chuckle, but other than that its mostly just Hughie paying respects to his former friends, talking to Stillwell, and being reunited with Annie. Its just a way of saying goodbye to the characters, especially Hughie himself. Theres nothing wrong with that, but its just not capable of meeting the high quality of some of this series. So The Boys doesnt go out with a bang, just a farewell. Read Full Review
