Comic Book Resources - Chad Nevett
Oct 30, 2008The rest of the team keeps itself busy with various tasks, none of which add up to much yet, but suggest payoffs in future issues. This is one of the slighter issues of "The Boys" with so much of it taken up with Hughie and G-Whiz, but there are also a few funny moments, including the final page where G-Whiz arrive at the G-Men's mansion to find them at the door posing in a ridiculous fashion. Again, Robertson's art is the perfect match for Ennis's writing as he poses the G-Men in some of the most cliche and absurd poses. The Boys is a joy to read if only because of the creative cohesion between Ennis and Robertson, and this issue is no exception. Read Full Review

Oct 29, 2008In between fart jokes and masturbation gags, Ennis sort of lays down the foundation for a mystery, makes a couple more easy digs at his Justice League team, then tops it all off with yet another cryptic conversation between the Legend and Butcher. There's one somewhat humorous scene involving a coincidental crossing of paths between Hughie and Starlight, but Ennis doesn't stick with the scene long enough to make it pay-off in a worthwhile fashion. In the end, the issue lacks the requisite amount of brains, heart and story, and we're left holding what amounts to a series of easy and poorly thought out jokes about the X-Men. Read Full Review
