Jul 29, 2016While you don’t necessarily have to have read the first “season” of this series, it does help to understand things a bit more, especially why Eddie and Trudy act the way they do/why they’re given crappy jobs on the task force. It’ll be really interesting to see how they both conduct this new case they’ve taken over. This is a great way to start the new series; I’m really excited that Eddie and Trudy are back and just as awesome as they were in the first series of Red Team. Oct 03, 2017The main question for fans of Ennis would be how does this measure up to his best work? Does it hit the heights of Preacher? The answer is no, however, this does in no way mean this is not worth a read. In fact the comic serves its purpose quite well and that purpose is entertainment. This may not be Ennis at his most thought provoking but its Ennis having fun with genre material. Genre material which in Ennis hands never feels cliched or outdated. Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - Justin Wood
Jul 20, 2016It's too early to tell how engaged I'll be by the story as it progresses. I may be an Ennis fanboy, but even I can't love everything he writes (although I try, baby. I try). So far I like the voices of the main characters and the book seems to be largely about them and their job, so a good sign. My recommendation is it's probably worth going back to read the original Red Teambefore picking this up, but if you don't feel like putting in the effort to update your Amazon queue, this book is very readable on its own. It's a simple cop story, and for once that isn't a bad thing. Read Full Review
