GRIMM #1

I think it's a high compliment to say that I often heard the show's theme music, which I really like, in my head as I was reading this comic. I'm anxiously awaiting the next issue. If I'm really lucky, this book will not be a miniseries but an ongoing title that can give me my Grimm fix even when the show is on hiatus on NBC! Grimm #1 gets 5 out of 5 stars. Read Full Review

Overall, GRIMM #1 is a fine opening comic. Non-watchers of the show shouldn't hesitate to jump in. It's a fun fantasy with a good protagonist and story. And who knows, you might even want to check out the show after reading. Read Full Review

Grimm #1 is a slightly heavy-handed introduction. Seeing words like "bludbad" written instead of spoken drives home some of the innate silliness of the world, but like the show things are played mostly straight, and the creative daring sells the story. The complex introduction might put off new readers while boring those familiar with the show, but when the creators finally move forward instead of spinning their narrative wheels, the book has the potential to feel like pure Grimm, a fun, if often silly world, where things can get tense and scary in a hurry. I was looking forward to Grimm #1, because like any other Grimm fan, I was looking forward to having another fix. Sadly though, the book fails on all marks. Even if you may be curious in the plotline, I cannot by any means recommend this comic at all. Grimm fans and all other fans, stay far away from this comic. Its sad for me to not even be able to recommend something, anything about a comic, but Grimm #1 was that unpleasant of an experience. Read Full Review
