The Green Hornet #5

How many times do I have to say you need to be reading this book? I'm running out of creative ways to say it, but this is a terrific new take on the Green Hornet and Waid has set things up for an interesting future. Some things come to an end this time, but we see some new seeds sown. Waid brings the action, but it's more about the men behind the masks and their relationships. This is one of the few Green Hornet runs where you wished Britt Reid got equal, if not more, screen time than the Hornet. A great story and inventive art makes this required reading. Overall I'm finding myself more interested in investing my time in this book knowing this is the Green Hornet I am more familiar with. It is the Green Hornet and Kato that most fans are familiar with and from here things can only get better. Read Full Review

This was a strong issue in the story department and that's mostly because Waid gives good reason for the Kato vs. Green Hornet fight sequence. That's the meat of this issue, but there's also character development and an intriguing concept of a superhero's arrogance messing up his life. Rather than become a broken man the Hornet becomes one possessed with finding the truth. Although he's been humbled this doesn't mean the man's massive ego has been put in check, as Reid still believes on shadowy streets the Green Hornet is infallible. Worth a look. Read Full Review

This series is going in a great direction, however I feel like some of the personal struggles he's going through should last a little longer than a couple of issues. Otherwise, still a great series!
