Russell is giving us some great character material while playing to the larger story while Colak gives us some great visuals and layouts, both of which are done with a really great density to it that it feels like I'm really getting my value out of the book and not just a quick read of simple action and adventure. The newest run of RED SONJA is a powerhouse series. Issue #3 continues the strong trajectory, dialing back the action a bit, but diving more into Sonja as a character. With three excellent issues under the belt, this is definitely a series to follow. Read Full Review

The story could be skipped and two different artists in the third issue make this relaunch's status shaky. The story goes nowhere, adding nothing to the conflict between forces. The inclusion of a backstory for a supporting character doesn't add anything to this issue. Two different artists' styles do not gel well. The colors are fine, but the letters have awkward moments. Three issues in and this happening? Extremely disappointing. Will Red Sonja do anything worthy of her past incarnations in this series? Read Full Review

From Flintstones to Snagglepuss to the Porky Pig one shot this, Mark Russel is so good. He is one of the best writers around, and this series does not disappoint. It was great fun. Along with this series I would also suggest his other current titles: Wonder Twins (DC) and the Lone Ranger (Dynamite). All of these series are great, but Red Sonja is the best of the three. Don't be afraid to pick this series up.
