Jungle Girl: Season Three #4

This volume of Jungle Girl has been a strange ride. Read on the surface it might appear to be a confusing collection of characters and influences, but that is exactly the point of the series. It is not meant to be coherent but rather to pay homage to a variety of different genres, in this case throwing in aliens into the “jungle girl” genre. Those reading this for a strong central core of story telling will likely be disappointed, but it is not really intended as such, instead focusing on the fun moments of action and not so much worrying about exactly who or what Jana is fighting (cue the dinosaurs and the giant insects.) At the same time the story ends up being a little bit disorganized, but it is still worth a look for its mashup of comic book history. Read Full Review

Jungle Girl: Season Three #4 turned out to be a good finish. Although I did want a bit from the script, as the journey felt a bit brief,but the sheer fun of it all combined with a winning creative team easily makes this an entry that should be purchased. Read Full Review

As is the case with a lot of mini series finales that have focused heavily on action over much else, that's what we get here. More action. It's definitely well done and seeing Jana flit about in her black skinsuit dealing with all manner of opponents works well. Jadson's artwork is a big draw, even with the coloring used on the book, and the series as a whole has had a kind of fun old school serialized aspect that played big and loose with things. This season was my first exposure to Jana overall with the Jungle Girl character and I'm certainly curious to see more of it. Read Full Review

I honestly don't know what to think about it... It's rushed as hell and it definitely shouldn't have been a Jungle Girl story. It feels like it doesn't belong here. Nah, it's a crap. I definitely don't get the point of this all. All the potential of the trilogy was wasted. Remember how there was a fallen astronaut in the conclusion of the first season? Remember how they went to see what happened? Looks like the authors of this book either just forgot or just changed everything they initially planned to do with the book. The result is a dog shit. Sadly.
