Worlds' Finest #2 has much more going on than one would catch on the first glance. From the title forward (not the apostrophe) there are subtle hints of a lot more going on. My big complaint here, I want more of the flashback story. Unless Hakkou ties into the mystery being unraveled in the flashback, I think the first issue or so could have stood as a set up to where they are now. Of course with that we wouldn't get the great use of different art teams and the later issue may become weaker because of it. With some great segments and a large number of cliffhangers Worlds' Finest #2 earns 3.5 out of 5 stars. Read Full Review

So, the book varies in quality depending on whether it focuses on the present action scene or the flashbacks. Everything set in the present is uninteresting and defies a certain amount of logic. Levitz still retains the characterization in those moments, but it is overshadowed by the infinitely more interesting flashbacks. Which have great art to accompany the depth of character work. The end result is a book that feels disjointed as the separate narratives don't come together to make a cohesive whole. However don't write the book off as it is entertaining as a character focused superhero title. Read Full Review

Issue #2 feels a less focused than the first issue, and Hakkou is yet another throwaway New 52 villain (whose motives and ties to Apokolips are sketchy at best). Hit-and-Miss. Read Full Review

"Worlds' Finest" has an interesting basic idea, and I'd like to see a book like this succeed. But while the flashback sequences feel right on target, the present day portion of the book could use a bit of a boost. This should be fun, but it ends up just a touch dull instead. Read Full Review
