Comicsverse - Gabriella Tutino
Nov 04, 2015The next logical step will pit Wonder Woman, the God of War, against Eirene, the Goddess of Peace. Eirene seems to be mad at Diana for killing Ares, and there's an undercurrent of a love-triangle brewing in this tension, which doesn't sound too great. Weird Science - Eric Shea
Oct 22, 2015While I had been enjoying this story arc previously, this issue doesn't really do much than make you smack your head and wonder what the hell is going on with everyone in this book with their flip flopping attitudes. The cliffhanger is very enjoyable though because it offers a chance for this book to get into some exciting territory, but besides for that this issue feels like a rerun because we've seen everything here before. Oct 22, 2015Wonder Woman #45 is another poorly executed issue, but for different reasons than what we are used to. Meredith Finch makes an admirable effort at bringing up important subject matter, but simply doesn't write the characters or dialogue well enough to make it noteworthy. While there are improvements in the art, the rest of the issue is mostly a train wreck, making this yet another disappointing issue for a character that deserves better. Read Full Review

This issue was disappointing. You kill off two characters that were underdeveloped and then you introduce another evil goddess? Maybe Donna will find a way back to life since these are comics but why kill off a character you barely fleshed out especially since people were already kinda peeved by it? And Donna's blue-haired friend? That was a total waste. I expected her to be Zola 2.0 but I guess not. I'm really hoping for a creative team change soon.

I feel like this issue came " " this close to giving me whiplash. Usually the writing of a comic is either good or bad, but wiith Meredith Finch you seem to have a bizarre distinction between the writing of the characters and dialogue, which is fine, and the writing of the plot which is god-awful. It's almost worse than just having a terrible writer, because you end up seeing characters you've managed to invest in being handled so badly. There are decisions that may end up making sense if the end of this issue isn't all as it seems, but there are others which are just straight-up bad writing. Meanwhile the art is exemplary throughout. I only wish a comic this nice to look at was as enjoyable to read.

There is spoilers in this so if you don't want to know, don't read it. There's so much going wrong with this comic at the moment. The theme that comes up in this comic repeatedly is domestic abuse. Aegeus talks about it during his fight with WW in the start and Donna confronts the guy whose been abusing Violet. In both scenes the idea isn't terrible but the execution fails. Why is it that Aegeus, a teenage boy who as far as we know has no formal combat training beating the crap out of WW? And Why is WW simply taking the lumps while spouting a moral lectures? Yes, Wonder Woman prefers to settle matters with peaceful resolutions, but there's a difference between trying to help someone with boundaries and being a fool. After trying t more
