    Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield

This series is one of the most unique I’ve read in a while in its depiction of the apocalypse and how humanity would coexist with eldritch beings. I’m not sure if we’re wrapping things up after this series ends at 12, but it does feel like an endgame is in sight. The Nice House by the Sea #8 doubles down on the idea that this series is less about who lives and more about what kind of people these characters choose to be when extinction looms. Hector’s grotesque transformation and brutality make the threat feel immediate and hopeless, while Norah’s intervention reframes the conflict around conscience and choice. The time-stop sequence is a standout moment that showcases the creative team’s control over rhythm and tension. Still, the sudden pivot away from imminent annihilation and the lingering ambiguity around key actions leave the issue feeling slightly unmoored. Even so, the emotional and philosophical weight remains gripping, and the slow burn continues to promise a reckoning that feels unavoidable. Read Full Review
