Nov 15, 2017Packed tight with fire and brimstone and inner turmoil, The Demon: Hell is Earth #1 is a stunning first issue in an exciting miniseries. Both the writing and artwork in this book are damn-near-perfect and work well together to create a hellish experience worth talking about. The Demon is back! Read Full Review

Nov 22, 2017This issue is everything I wanted it to be. It balances the scary and the funny quite well while at the same time as creating some real emotional depth and intrigue. It might be a little confusing depending on how familiar one is with the character, but it seems pretty self-explanatory. It is also rewarding for fans with its mention of Camelot, Gotham, and Los Angeles showing that this story is going to be cumulative. The Demon certainly has arisen and I cant wait for whats next. Dec 02, 2017The Demon: Hell is Earth has given me a newfound appreciation for Etrigan, if for nothing else than the interaction between him and Jason Blood. I'm definitely more interested in the characters if this is the caliber of storytelling we get. Read Full Review

Nov 15, 2017This is a tremendous debut for this mini Constant comes out all cylinders firing with this tale of self-loathing, isolation, empathy, hellfire, and fate. It reads very quickly, and is easy on the eyes to boot; Honestly, the team of Walker, Hennessy, and Sotomayor presents a visual feast. I cant place enough praise on this, nor can I encourage you any more vehemently to buy it. Read Full Review

Nov 22, 2017My only gripe with The Demon: Hell is Earth #1 is that this really should have had a double-sized debut, as this issue moves so quickly while packing in so much. Thats not bad, mind you, especially in an era of trade-waiting, but I definitely closed the back cover of The Demon: Hell is Earth #1 wanting more, despite my satisfaction with the story. Nov 24, 2017I've been a fan of The Demon since I began reading comics. He always frightened me a little, but intrigued me at the same time. In Constant and Walker's capable hands, this Demon fan has found yet another new series, even if it is only a 6 issue one, to be excited over. Read Full Review

Nov 22, 2017Like many an unwanted character, Etrigan demands that you pay attention to him as he acts out for the sheer joy of chaos and menace. While he has gone back to speaking in rhymes, they are not the cutesy bits of doggerel he has spat out in the past. Now he only speaks in rhymes when he is happy, as he is when he takes on other demons in battle. Now if only we can find out who brought Hell to Earth… Read Full Review

Nov 23, 2017Etrigan and his human hoist, Jason Blood, are characters who have been out of the spotlight for far too long. Thankfully, this new miniseries shows every sign that'll it'll be able to make up for lost time. Read Full Review

Nov 15, 2017A new status quo for Etrigan and some spectacular artwork make for a very strong opening issue to this series. Those familiar with the character should find this very intriguing, while folks brand new to the Demon could be a little confused. But why not give it a shot anyway? When has a deal with the devil ever gone wrong for someone? Read Full Review

Aug 01, 2018Series writer Andrew Constants first outing with this character didnt seem to have the same impact that past writers have delivered. Readers have come to expect a tongue twisting treat when picking up an Etrigan book, this first issue was lacking unfortunately. Constant did help to flesh out Blood and Etrigans relationship more and with the rest of the creative team having so much experience and delivering excellent work, hopefully it can help elevate the character to rhyming glory once again. Nothing groundbreaking or intriguing enough to continue. The story is serviceable on the character but nothing is here to give the story an unique spin. Brad Walker's art is very good but overall not worth price.
