I'm still overjoyed that my not Post Crisis Superman is still alive and kicking even if he isn't the Post Crisis Superman although he has all the memories of the post Crisis Superman as well as his maturity and spirit mixed with the New 52 Superman's stint in the New 52 armored costume...okay, I'll stop before I ruin it... Black Dawn is definitely going to send the Kent Family racing off to Metropolis. Gleason and Tomasi have set the stage for the departure nicely. Despite the help of Lois, Batman and the Super Sons, it's fitting that this arc is going to wind down with Superman on his own. Read Full Review

Superman 22 continues that tradition with yet another knot in a web of what actually interconnects the Rebirth Superman from the New 52 one and before and it looks like no stone will be unturned. If you haven't yet, this is the book to have in your pull for sure! Read Full Review

Superman continues to be a great and exciting book that leaves me hungry for more after each issue and I'm scratching my head raw in trying to figure out how Tomasi and Gleason will shock us next.  I'm loving this arc and I'm loving the art that's depicting it and I can't wait to read the next issue. This story has been a stand out for DC Rebirth since the start. Tomasi and Gleason are weaving their way through a superman mystery and dolling out little pieces of information at a time. The story is damn near perfect as far as Superman stories go and the art is absolutely beautiful in this issue. My only complaint is that I have to wait a couple weeks to see what happens! Something has been quite fishy about the new town that Clark, Lois, and Jon have been calling home. With this story beginning to flesh out a lot of oddities that have been happening over time. Alluding to there is more to this town than may meet the eye. Read Full Review

This was an exciting and suspenseful issue that has me eagerly awaiting the story's resolution. I may be somewhat regretful that the Kents are headed for the city quite so soon, but I have faith that the title will remain just as enjoyable regardless of its setting. Read Full Review

If you've been reading Superman, then you know what to expect in some of the issues that deal with the hometown that the Kent's live in. We've been teased for a while that something is off about the town and the folks around it, and this issue only makes it weirder and more disturbing. A fantastic issue once again this month, and one focused on a different and very underrated character who is finally getting her chance to shine. The series carries a gravitas now and feels like one of the most important books in the DC Universe. The mystery starts to unfold, with this being a great Lois taking charge issue. I am a fan of anytime Lois is written well and this is no different. I am excited to see where it goes and how much chaos it creates.

I loved the narrative framework here, as Lois is the centre of the action and we see the mysteries of their hometown exposed through her perspective. The scene where Lois gets behind the wheel of the Batmobile was pretty awesome...this issue doesn't offer much of anything in terms of answers about what the f**k is going on with the Kents' hometown, but it is a really fun ride. As a whole, Rebirth "Superman" has been a great title.

Easy to overlook with the Button crossover in Flash and Batman, Superman maintains its consistent quality. Gleason and Tomasi continue to deliver solid story telling. Lois is the star of this issue, and receives some A material. One criticism I have with Superman is the decompression that has become the hallmark of the current era comic writing. This story is a nice bit of filler, but exists to set up the next issue. Manke is one of the few artists who can fill Gleason's shoes. This is how you handle artist transitions. Superman is the second must buy book from DC comics this week!

I love this series, but this issue was a little weird. I think it's awesome how little things in past issues show up again as important aspects in future issues. Case in point; seeing the characters trapped at the end that appeared in previous issues like the characters who robbed the fair in what appeared to just be a filler issue that now has more importance. As well as characters from the two issue Frankenstein arc - so very cool. I'll be bummed if and when they leave Hamilton for Metropolis. It added a wholesomness to Superman.
