Supergirl has always had a soft spot in my heart, and Rebirth knows how to hit me just right. The writing, as always, is fantastic. The art is detailed and builds the world seamlessly. A great read for sure, with some pretty fun throwbacks as well. As a personal note, as great as the original cover is, if you can get your hands on the variant, do it. Stanley "Artgerm" Lau absolutely killed it! The variant is simply incredible. Read Full Review

There's also some nice small nuggets here in Kara learning Mandarin before seeking out assistance which helps underline the character as a world-wide hero and not just a local one fighting for truth, justice, and the American way. Worth a look. Read Full Review

What I enjoyed most was I-Chings interpretation of the S shield, as a path to be walked. Since the advent of its a symbol of hope, the emblem has taken on amuch more abstract concept, and much more philosophical than the original S stands for Superman. Read Full Review

Overall, as a standalone, Supergirl #14 stands solid and pays our toll across to the next arc. Kara Danvers vs Supergirl has good potential given the ending of Supergirl #13 and the changes that Kara is facing, not to mention a new foe in the form of one Cat Grant. the art is still in an upswing so that's good. the dialog continues to be Orlando-horrible, and the story is complete filler. she goes to learn how to connect with her inner self to control her powers better. yawn.
