The addition of Scot Eaton's terrific art in this issue has been a very welcome one. This series has always been blessed with terrific writing, but the art accompanying it has varied wildly in quality. Suicide Squad #32 brings ‘The Secret History of Task Force X' to a close and I couldn't have found myself more satisfied with what came of this mission. It stung like hell because with the end of every mission, this team is yanked and twisted in a way that changes everything when you get back to them for the next arc. You care about what happens to these characters and that is all you can ask for when it is a book about villains. Read Full Review

The End of Task Force-X is a rollercoaster, both in the emotional sense and also just generally. Tensions within the team and emotional subtext beneath the bloodshed add something special to the last battle with the very big bad, Red Wave. Ending on the familiar themes of mistrust, contempt and vitriol between Waller, Flag and the Squad, the book reminds us of exactly who these characters are, to explain why not to expect happy endings for these super-villains. If you've been reading "The Secret History of Task Force X," then you might as well finish the arc. If you haven't, I'd say this story is quite skippable. The narrative just isn't cohesive enough or focused to allow for a strong execution. If there's one thing this issue does do well, it's that it sets up the title for a bit of a fresh starting point. The artwork was pretty decent for this issue. I like the way the artist showed the Red Wave's current and lingering effects in Faraday and Karin. I still don't love the spacesuit design, though it was less "in your face" this time at least. The close ups (specifically on Waller, Karin, and Rick) were pretty spectacular, as was the design of the Red Wave. Read Full Review

Reaching the conclusion of this otherwise mediocre story was like swimming through rapidly-setting concrete. There were never any great stakes, and the incredible things that will change the Suicide Squad forever are, in fact, quite credible. And what's up with the Phantom Zone in this book? I half expect it to get rolled into hi-bounce balls and shot from a spud cannon next. Which, thinking about it now, would be kind of cool. But not six issues of it. Read Full Review

The final issue of the overly long "Secret History of Task Force X" storyline delivers pretty much what the rest of the arc has " a lot of action, some of it impressive, but very little in the way of compelling character development. Read Full Review

I liked it. It was exciting. Flag's choices intrigued me. Though it was typical. DC hates change.
