  Calero refreshes the character design of each team member, and the book looks better for it. The Engineer is sexier, J'onn is more alien, and the team's premiere couple both look a little less like action figures. Calero truly shines during Jack Hawksmoor's trip to visit the city-spirit of Chernobyl. The spirit looks like a terminal cancer patient, and he's being tended to by the spirits of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, both of whom are beautiful but tragically scarred. Given the sensitive political and environmental nature of using these cities in a story, it is pleasing to see them handled with equal parts tact and grace. Read Full Review

  I wasn't sure what Jenkins was going to do with only two issues but so far with just this one he has crafted a great story! It's sad that he's only going to get two issues but if next issue is anywhere close to this, it's going to be some great stuff! Read Full Review

  Competent enough on its own, the story, both on a written and artistic level, suffers by comparison to the giants who came before. Imagine J.K. Rowling writing a sequel to Lord of the Rings and you'll get a sense of the change here. Dropped. Read Full Review

  All of this makes the impending conclusion of 'Supercritical' very supplementary, especially to those averse to filler material. You might be better off if you decide to skip these two issues and resume collecting from #9 instead. Read Full Review

  "Stormwatch" #7 sounded good on solicitation, but the end product is quite disappointing. I wanted to like this comic, but I'm now content to just wait until Sepulveda returns in May with the arrival of Milligan. This issue is, ultimately, a mess. Read Full Review
