    If a first issue is supposed to intrigue the reader and grab them, this one did it! And, as I said, Takara's work is just stylized enough to complement a more galactic/sci-fi natured story. I hope I run into Takara at a convention some time so I can grab a commission. Read Full Review

    Smallville: Lantern #1 is a great start to what I'm sure is going to be a fun arc.  Bryan Q. Miller's writing is a given and Marcio Takara brings a unique style along for the ride.  From the incredible Cat Staggs' cover to Superman reciting the Green Lantern Oath and everything in between, you can't go wrong reading this issue.     Along with offering a cameo from John Stewart, who as the Earths' current GL appears to have been tapped to showing Superman the ropes, and a brief history of Green Lanterns in the Smallville Universe, the opening issue to the latest Smallville mini-series also foreshadows looming problems with the Manhunters who are awoken as well on discovering a new Lantern has been chosen.
