Of course, there's also Poison Ivy, who just wants to enjoy her solitude...as long as her best friend Harley's there to enjoy it with her. And then there's the new girl, Black Canary, who's engaged to the love of her life, Green Arrow-but the closer they get to the wedding day, the more it feels like they might not be so written in th more

Get Your Comic On - Michael Brennan

    Feb 11, 2026

Overall, Sirens: Love Hurts #1 is reminiscent of films like Se7en — twisted killers and dark subject matter — but filtered through a zany, comicbook lens: colourful, stylish, and unapologetically bold. This is a fantastic first issue, and I can’t wait to see where it goes next. Read Full Review

    Kabooooom - Matt Morrison

    Feb 14, 2026

Sirens: Love Hurts was not what I expected in a femme-focused superhero series that premiered on Valentine’s Day week. That is not a criticism. It is an observation of how surprising this book was and how it is the best thing to be done with Black Canary, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn or Catwoman in some time. If you love these characters or a bit of romantic drama and comedy mixed in with your superheroics, you will want to grab hold of this one. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

    Feb 11, 2026

Howard has put together a really fun dynamic for all of the characters and are really interesting and intriguing plot that moves pretty far away from the standard tropes of all female crime fighting action adventure tropes. It feels really fun and really unique and quite promising. Howard Sharp approach seems like it's really going in a direction that could be very appealing as things progress. Read Full Review

    Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield

    Feb 11, 2026

The plot in this first issue is solid, with good dialogue that has a lighter touch than Howard often does, but the real superstar here is Babs Tarr, whose art is just as colorful and creative as it was on Batgirl and Black Canary’s solo series way back when. It’s also great to see Black Canary back to being the high-energy rock star from her critically underrated solo run. Read Full Review

Comic Book Clique - Sawyer Peek

    Feb 16, 2026

The team dynamics are sharp. The art is exceptional. And the tone feels deliberate rather than reactionary. It’s not reinventing these characters, but it doesn’t need to. It presents them at their most capable, stylish, and united. Even as someone who wasn’t necessarily the core audience, I found myself invested. Read Full Review

    Comic Watch - Tyler Davis

    Feb 13, 2026

Overall, Sirens: Love Hurts #1 will not be a book for everyone, but for those fond of these characters and the relationships they have with one another, it will not disappoint. It’s a beyond-charming and fun adventure with no continuity knowledge required. Read Full Review
