1988's "Death in the Family" ranks as one of the worst moments in comic book history, just below the "The Killing Joke" and "Green Lantern #54", so to read about Jason Todd dealing with the emotional aftermath of that trauma was cathartic and empowering. Scott Lobdell's "Who is Artemis" storyline keeps you guessing from issue to issue through clever plot twists, and Dexter Soy hits it out of the park with the art. And as always, Bizarro adds just enough camp and comedy to make this book one of my favorite titles each month. Read Full Review

The art is spot on (as always). The characters are layered (as always). This book has been so good, that it only can be judged against itself. When this comes out in TBP, this story will fit quite nicely. However, as a stand alone issue, it is a bit light. Read Full Review

As always, Soy and Gandini's work is off the charts gorgeous. They do a great job of giving us the very distinct look of the Amazons of Bana-Mighdall, reflecting their desert culture and climate in smart, subtle ways. There's also some fantastic Bizarro and Jason based action sequences and Bizarro's refugees, despite there being so many of them, continue to be clearly differentiated. Read Full Review

While we're pretty much exactly where we were at the end of the previous issue, this installment gives us one hell of a twist that I didn't see coming and may have even given us the final nail in the coffin of Jason Todd putting his death behind him.  Now while these are all good things, that's pretty much all we get here besides for some amazing art all the way though....... which I look forward to each time this series comes out. Aside from a cool cliffhanger, there's not much to this issue. The characterisation remains strong and the art is great, but Lobdell seems to want to stress Jason's mental deterioration, which we already know is a big problem. He made it a bit more obvious with an extended hallucination sequence that I didn't really care for, so I hope he got it out of his system so we can move forward. Read Full Review

This was mostly setup for the big faceoff between the army of Qurac and the Amazons of Bana-Mighdall, but with how good this creative team is right now, it's hard not to get excited. Artemis is going to be put in a tough position, but luckily the Outlaws will be there to help. Also, I really love how they've built up the destructive force of the Bow of Ra, it's very powerful. The comic is a bit on the nose in these scenes, while the Artemis/Akila storyline holds a bit more subtlety (while still obviously setting up a conflict between Artemis and what is left of the girl she once knew).
