The art and writing really make this book fun and inviting. While the levity break is welcomed within the House of Brainiac crossover as a whole, I personally would've liked the danger to carry similar weight for Paige. Still, it's an enjoyable read and fits well with the reimaging Leah Williams has been creating for Power Girl from the beginning. Read Full Review

Overall, Power Girl #9 is much more enjoyable than previous issues of this series. With elements that hurt the series downplayed there are not as many distractions. There's just enough with the action and the surprise at the end that make it readable. It's by no means good, it's just not quite as bad as most of the issues have been. Read Full Review

Power Girl is front and center in the book, bashing bad guys, and trying to save the day. She also went to a bar while the city is in peril and needed help to think of the solution to the problems. Human girls are fighting and terrorizing Czarians. And there is the usual cute quotient. So better than most issues of this title but not good? Seems about right. Read Full Review

Honestly this issue was quite passable. Like not a lot of plot occurred but PG actually seemed a bit more like PG, hot headed, loved smashing things, decent fights. Crush doesnt seem out of character either and the unique weapon and zaniness of the fight element was slightly entertaining. All in all it was decent and had some entertainment value. The ending plot hooks for the next arc also wasnt half bad. I can appreciate it. Art was good. Raised the score. Should this be a 6 or 6.5? Sure, but I give it a 7 cause I feel like rewarding people when they move in the right direction.

Everyone has a right to their artistic freedom, including DC Comics publishing Yanick Paquette with Power Girl basically with a bare buttocks. And the human body is beautiful. I am also pro-naturist. But hero and heroine comics should still be accessible to kids. I know everyone will say I am a dumb prude. I am the furthest thing from that. But I don't see a point in chasing parents away from supporting kids with hero and heroine comics or the ultra-sexualizing of these characters. Yes I am from the last century. But really. Give it a break, DC.
