  Dixon does a nice job getting this new title off and running with a quick start. This title is very balanced and treats the reader to both solid writing and good artwork. If you had been turned off from Winick's version of the Outsiders then I definitely recommend you giving Batman and the Outsiders a try. If you like covert operations themed comic books then you will also enjoy this title. Read Full Review

  Hopefully, docking bullets off the score certainly wont come as a slap to Mr. Dixon. His circumstances surrounding this title just dictated a bit more than he could salvage for the first couple of issues. I stuck with my pledge to read this book because if anyone can give me a decent Bat-book right now at DC, its him. Until then, Ill have to make do with the Outsiders battling an OMAC instead of the Suicide Squad. Read Full Review

  Another big problem with this issue is that the ending has the rotten stink of Countdown tie-in all over it, which doesn't bode well for this new series moving forward. Still, in the end, Dixon and Lopez give us an entertaining little romp through the political underbelly of the DCU, and at the very least, the high quality of craft displayed here is enough to get me at least somewhat excited about this title's future.   I did like this issue and I will continue to read about Batman and his new Outsiders. I like the way this issue played out with the superhero espionage and the way each member of the operation really fit into their role. Im not sure how I feel about the involvement of the OMAC or the potential Countdown tie-in, but by itself this is a rather well-done story that could have a great deal of potential depending on how things play out.
