Batman guest stars in a stand-alone story of the earliest days of the Manhunter from Mars' time on Earth! A man has died in Gotham City. The police are sure it's a suicide. The sister of the victim disagrees. The Martian Manhunter investigates the deadly trail and it leads straight to billionaire Bruce Wayne and a furtive figure whispered about by the criminal denizens of Gotham, a figure referred to as the Batman.
