Whether this book has flown under ones radar or been avoided outright for its title characters less than humble beginnings in the 1980s, Vibe is consistently one of the most underappreciated books in DC Comics stable. With the story ramping up to significant importance for the universe itself (Darkseids daughter anyone?) and a huge surprise reveal on the final page, this issue is a perfect place to jump in if you havent been picking this up. Show up for the ties to the multiverse and Vibes place in the Justice League of America. With that said, it seems this book might still have something to pick up from, though right now it's his connection to A.R.G.U.S. which I believe is weighing him down. I think that Sterling Gates needs to find a way to conclude this story in a way that Vibe can move on to a new chapter in his life and do so in a way that we the readers will still care to pick up the book afterwards. Luckily, there's more to offer. Dante has a nice arc here as he, the “loser” brother, tries to make good by rescuing his brother. Cisco and Gypsy are also endearing characters and even hard-nose Dale Gunn proves increasingly appealing. The overall storyline is fun. The hint Waller drops could really push this book into an exciting direction, but as of right now, I think this book is coasting a bit too much on the likeability of its characters. But we're still building, so things could turn around. And like I said it's “nice” so at least it's not “bad.” It's better than average, but doesn't push the envelop toward great yet. Read Full Review
