It's too easy to say again that this is the best ongoing comic DC is publishing, but it's still true. There is a depth to Venditti's writing that is missing from too many comics. Wonderfully, the art is just as striking. They fit together perfectly as the art team builds on the character and depth of story to present a really unified whole. Sometimes, comics have great writing and passable art, or beautiful looking pages under an abysmal script, but with Hawkman you get the whole package…if, only each issue could be double length! Comics need all the support we can give them right now so go pick this one up, buy an extra copy to give to a friend and let's make sure the Hawks get to soar for a long time to come. If there's one reason to recommend this book to DC readers, it would be the fact that Hawkman is one of the most consistent books they have to offer. Where we are right now in Hawkman #24, has been issues in the making since Carter had that first flashback of his past lives. A story that had to work its way all the way to the beginning, to work towards an end. Read Full Review

The addition of Hawkwoman has given it a new lease on life, but it's still rarely as compelling as when it focuses on the diverse past lives of its lead characters and takes us to different worlds and times. No other book like it when it's on its game. Read Full Review

A fast-moving slugfest is what awaits you in reading this issue and while that's still pretty damn fun and enjoyable, there isn't a lot of substance beyond that........ except for a brief mention of Shayera and Carter's connection.  The book looks great though and you'll definitely have some fun moments, but in the end, I still want more out of this title. Another solid Hawkman. I like how there has been many arcs so far but they all intertwine in some way since issue 1.
