You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

A revenant Harley is a really clever idea. All too often, the dead are given a humorlessness. Harley has seen death. That cant be easy, but she wouldnt be Harley if she didnt come back from it with a clear sense of humor. Theres every indicator that shes going to be just as weird and whimsical having been through the Lazarus Pit. Phillips and company have their work cut out for them. This should be fun. The story opens with Kevin Seeking out the League of Shadows in a cold and isolated location. He then makes a stunning request of Angel Breaker who reluctantly agrees. Afterwards, an incident in the Lazarus Pit yields unexpected results.72 hours in the past, Harley and Kevin bring a new friend home to Gotham. When Harley shows off her new living accommodations, deadly event occurs. The Story: Stephanie Phillips creates an exciting new story arc that builds upon the events in Harley Quinn: 2022 Annual #1. I love Kevin and Harleys friendship and this issue showed its many facets. Now that Harley faces a horrifying new challenge, it will be interesting to see how her found family will shape the upcoming events. The artwork in this issue makes a slight return to the fanciful whimsy presented prior to the Task Force XX arc. The illustrations are colorful, but ther Read Full Review

Harley Quinn #22 begins a new arc with significantly improved art, good pacing, and the makings of an effective murder mystery. Fortunately, the flaws (Kevin's green hair, Harley's personality, and an alien?!?) are compensated for by some darn fine technical execution. Read Full Review

    Batman-News - Theresa Campagna

There are some elements to this book that remind me Stephanie Phillips does have talent as a writer, but those talents don't lie in writing a good Harley Quinn. It's sad how unreadable the character has become with no change. This is not character evolution, development, growth, or whatever you want to call it. It never was. Read Full Review

It's a lot and it's a mess. At this point, it feels like we're reading a caricature of a caricature and this issue is a prime example of it. And it's sad. Read Full Review
