Harley Quinn #16

Harley Quinn #16 was a lot of fun and a really good read from start to finish. I'm really excited about this "Gang of Harleys" storyline that's started up here, presenting a nice wide and enjoyable cast of new characters with tons of potential for great jokes and humor. We didn't really get to see them in action currently, but with the great writing, humor, and artwork; it didn't really matter too much or affect any of the fun. I'm going to miss this title a lot over this two month break. I can't wait to see what fun and excitement awaits this title when it comes back in June. Read Full Review

This issue again sees Chad Hardin and John Timms share art duties. Both artists have really defined the look of New 52 Harley and her world by now, injecting each page with style and zany charm. Their styles are just different enough to clash a bit, though. Whereas issue #15 divided their pages in a pretty natural way, this issue just abruptly switches from Hardin to Timms. Ideally, the two-month hiatus will allow the art crew to get a head start on Harley's next big adventure. Read Full Review

Another chapter of setting the stage toward Harley's imminent gang, all branded with her iconic red and black diamonds, and ready to maim and kill in the service of world harmony. This issue is a lot talkier than the usual Harley Quinn fare, but there's never a dull moment and plenty of plot progression to keep you engaged. It's going to be a long break before we pick up where this leaves off, but at least we get a couple of Harley Quinn Convergence issues to tide us over, remind us where the character came from, and, who knows: maybe help us appreciate where she is now? This issue was more set-up than anything else, but that's not half bad when the book remains incredibly fun. Harley and her supporting cast are entertaining and a half, so watching them interview potential assistants, buy a new apartment building, and attend a few movies is a lot of fun. Read Full Review

This issue of Harley id big on jokes and small on substance.  I hate to use the term "filler", but this issue seems to be treading water until June when the story can kick off uninterrupted.  It still has great art and some real laughs, but if you skip it, you won't be confused when the book comes back in two months.
