  Since I don't have cable I have not had the pleasure of watching GL:TAS yet. As soon as I have a legal option to do so I will. In the meantime, this comic gives the right feel and mood of what I've heard TAS is like. It is a fun way to introduce new readers, especially younger readers, to the Green Lantern universe without having to worry about the violence level. This is good kids material and the fact that it isn't painful for adults and doesn't make a dyed in the wool GL fan like me scream sacrilege is a testament to just how great a simple, fun series can be.   I know fun is a four letter word that comics fans seem to scorn these days, but this book was just that and it had more action in it than some of the other Green Lantern family members of late.  Gone are the days when most kids can walk into a store and buy a comic book and find new exciting places and adventures to inspire and thrill them.  So this book is unashamedly fun, and captivating and silly sometimes.  But that's okay because for a few minutes there I kind of felt like a kid again...and that's worth $3 to me.  Four out of five lanterns.   This series is a charming alternative for comic readers who like the Green Lantern concept, but are disenfranchised with the thick continuity and excessive expansion of the "Green Lantern" franchise in the relaunched DC Universe. This is a clean, crisp book with a buoyant story, sharp art, and unburdened characters. Quite simply, it's a fun Green Lantern title. Those are always good to have around. Read Full Review

  As a die-hard Batman fan I'm really looking forward to this book coming out in April. It shows some definite promise for the future of DC's all-ages and animation prospects. If Green Lantern succeeds as Batman and Superman have, hopefully the rest of the magnificent seven won't be too far behind in moving from the page to animated or live action.
