Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato are telling some solid Flash stories here. My earlier impatience aside, the two do seem to have a vision of where they want to take the character, and that's finally coming into play in a big way. Things are looking good, especially when you consider Manapul's shining art and Buccellato's excellent colouring that we've gotten to enjoy since issue #1. Read Full Review

From top to bottom, The Flash #7 is a great comic. The visuals are energetic and eye-popping, and the story manages to pull at the heartstrings. The last page cliffhanger might fall a little flat, but I'm willing to look past that in the grand scheme of things. Still solid, as Manapul-Buccellato dangle a number of plotlines into the series, proving they have a clear plan for its direction. The art, however, remains the biggest selling point of the title. If anything, improvements in the story are simply bonuses. Read Full Review

Seeing how the next issue is going to be firmly centered around the speed force this issue did a good job of ending the Captain Cold story and starting a new problem for Barry with Patsy‘s now firmly anti-Flash stance. Worth a look. Read Full Review

Oddly enough, the quality of Kolins' art mirrors that of Johns' script, with the artist struggling with some awkward facial expressions and static compositions during the flashback sequences before rising to his usual level of dynamic, emotionally driven work once the story kicks into gear in the present day. The issue is definitely a mixed bag, and the good only barely outweighs the bland. Read Full Review
