Overall this issue really brings things home to roost for Deathstroke here. This issue has the fall of Slade Wilson which has honestly been a long time coming. It's a complete masterful finale that paves the way for the next phase of Deathstroke's adventures, while closing arcs worth of stories on the World's Deadliest Assassin and his development from Bad Guy, to Good Guy, to something in between? Deathstroke is a shining jewel of a title and the consistency with Priest's voice on this cast of characters, with the art capturing everything from the human moments to the dynamic action scenes, will always leave you wanting more. Priest gives readers a pick up the pieces type of finale dealing with way more than the already defunct Defiance Squad.  Was everything resolved?  No, but readers who have been around since the Rebirth start will know the routine and will look forward to Batman versus Deathstroke and beyond.  I know I am! All in all, despite having a few too many storylines to wrap up, this was a strong issue that focused on Wilson, and the consequences of his mistreatment of the people closest to him. Its likely this is just the beginning of Slades fall, considering where he ends up at the end of the arc, but considering Batman and Slade are facing off in the next story, the readers are in for a fun ride, either way. Diogenes Neves has been illustrating the Defiance arc since its beginning and has made leaps and bounds since that first issue. The final issue of this phase of the book is chaotic what with a multi-pronged fight in Chinatown, and it looks gorgeous too. The inks by Trevor Scott and Jeromy Coxs colors have kept each issue consistent, and moreover looking gorgeous. While this era of Deathstroke is over, another one is kicking off. But if you want an indicator of where the title has been and where it will be going, youre in for a good start here. Read Full Review

Deathstroke #29 is another solid issue in the series. It seems to aim for a concluding installment, but this primarily shows that Slade has gotten himself into a mess that even he may not be able to conquer. Mix this with solid artwork, and you have a comic that I can easily recommend. Give it a read. Read Full Review

Phenomenal conclusion to multiple story arcs unraveled in the last couple of months. It's hard to even briefly explain what exactly happens in this issue, due to so many characters involved, so many plotlines crossing their lines and tying... Sufficed to say, if all roads lead to Rome, all arcs in Deathstroke's series led to this issue, this conclusion, or a milestone marking an end of an era and setting up what's to come. My hopes for the future? I sure would love to see only more from side characters. Deathstroke is after all not the only reason I pick up his books and read them with such interest. Wintergreen, Adeline, Rose, Terra, just to mention few, add so much depth to the series with their personalities, personal struggles and co nnections to Slade. That B cast, despite not being widely known to casual comic book fans is a true force to be reckoned with. May Batman versus Deathstroke event begin, ladies and gentlemen. it may be a show you don't want to miss, and same applies to this particular issue as well. more
