Deathstroke #25 was hands down a classic issue in my opinion! I've never seen Slade take on some of the most powerful villains of the DCU and hold his own before! None of them, not even Reverse Flash or Ultra-Humanite could withstand Deathstroke! Deathstroke #25 is an issue that takes a look about the roadmap of its main character and puts him under a microscope to focus in on the characters development throughout the run and brave ahead into the continuing the next set of adventures. Priest and company do just that and keep up the level of consistency seen in only a few books on the stands right now. Deathstroke is a title about retribution, heroism, what makes a person, and changing in a world that won't believe it at all. The anniversary issue has a few bumps in the road with the art, but they are few and far between and don't slow down the ride that is this thriller of a comic book. Read Full Review

Anniversary or not, this is another great issue of Deathstroke.  The whole series has been about the grey area between hero and villain, but Priest turns it into a clever game that ends with cool and humorous results.  This is still one of the best Rebirth books and everyone should be reading it! Any book where the creators produce a story with A-list villains debating if theyre evolved, evil, efficient, et cetera while the protagonist manages to be active in the plot despite chaining him up the whole time and it never gets boringwell, that is how you make a good story great and classic characters ever more captivating. Carlo Pagulanyan continues to draw the best and most dynamic Deathstroke since Mike Zeck. Yeah, since Mike Zeck. I wish more people would discover this series. Its one of the most intricate and pleasurable one on the market, regardless of how difficult it is to approach initially. Read Full Review

As far as jumping on points, this may well be one of the best ones this comic has had in awhile. Its a dense operatic story thats reaching its crescendo. Any given issue of Deathstroke is going to be a good one, but this one goes all-out. If youre looking for one of the closest things comics has to something that can reach towards The Wire or The Sopranos, youre in good hands here. Read Full Review

Issue #25 completely blew me away even more than I was expecting. On top of a grandiose appearance of The Society, which had me very hyped for this issue, there is plenty of other stuff here to fall in love with. This issue is more than just Deathstroke facing off with some of DC's biggest villains, it's a study of the character and his development through the series. Pagulayan's art is top tier this time around as well. Highly recommended to all.
