Deathstroke #17

This is one of those rare instances where the cover offers an accurate representation of what happens in the book. While there of course isn't actually 10,000 enemies, the issue pretty much boils down to Deathstroke vs. an overwhelming amount of ninjas. It's fun, violent and yet another reminder that Slade's called the best mercenary around for a reason. Just don't come into this issue expecting any strong character development or a deep plot and odds are you'll have a good time. Read Full Review

I'd urge people to pick up this title while they can and to enjoy it. Its an issue which shows just how badass Slade Wilson is and how even against a throng of ninja warriors you would still consider him a heavy favourite which reminds me that I enjoyed the sub heading on the front cover which actually reflects quite accurately to the contents of the comic but of course its not 10,000 ninjas but a hell of a lot of them, they may as well as wrote ronseal on the cover as it does exactly what it says on the tin. The rundown: Deathstroke #17 isn't going to change your life. In fact, the art really holds the title back; and as it stands, it isn't a title that would garner a lot of fans. However, if you're looking for a change of pace and are in the mood for something different (perhaps something filled with action and ninjas? Hmmmm?) then give it a shot. Read Full Review

Overall, Jordan has made a story some people could gravitate towards but it isn't a game changer for Deathstroke nor is it worth the money for the majority. It doesn't make me wish Deathstroke wasn't at death's (or should I say DC's) door. The artwork is the major factor keeping this issue back, but the tedious moments of narration and the tired concept of ninjas are other big turn offs that dull my enthusiasm to read the next issue.
