If my score seems low it's because in spite of really digging the Gotham stuff, it was a long journey to get there full of scenes of somewhat flat conversations and airports and heavy explanations. Especially compared to the pacing of the previous three issues, this one felt weighted down by a lot of information and set-up, but it ends on a high note and I expect it will be back to big brawling fun next go-round! Deathstroke #4 gives the reader a ton of cool stuff when it comes to Slade's personal and professional life, but the promise of some Gotham fun fell a little flat...until the end.  The art remains superb, but the story needs to pick up the pace. Read Full Review

DEATHSTROKE #4 takes some time to slow things down and focuses on story. It isn't the most absorbing issue, but it gets plenty of mandatory information out there and does a solid job building up the hype for what's to come. It should come as no surprise by now that it's an issue filled with visuals that match the tone perfectly and there's even a good laugh thrown into the mix. Now it's a matter of seeing if all of this buildup will be worth the wait! Considering what the next chapter will contain, I'm seriously looking forward to DEATHSTROKE #5. This isn't an issue that is going to blow anyone away, but one that is necessary to the overall arc of this book. It's the kind of slow segment that will read much better when collected into a trade paperback as opposed to a single issue. While Deathstroke #4 won't amaze it will satisfy series fans and has done its job by grabbing my attention. I'll definitely be checking out what comes next for Deathstroke and his family troubles and what, or who, Gotham has in store for him. Read Full Review

There is a lot of background that this book tries to catch you up on and it's somewhat tedious, but the ending picks up enough and hooks you for the next issue.

Yes, this is a slower story to explain stuff but it's just boring and confusing. Great art, I love Tony Daniel. But this story is just going nowhere. Also, throwing Harley in there just seems like its forced to sell books. I get that he explains himself with what happened with the Suicide Squad but I just didn't feel it. Again she was drawn really cool and overall the art gets a 9.
