This series continues to stick to keeping things grim and I certainly like that. I mean, I don't like Klarion and I wouldn't want that to happen to anyone, but the gallows humor of Damian cutting his tongue out repeatedly and Ra's agreeing with Klarion for a moment is definitely my kind of humor. The big picture story is moving forward a bit more here with some expected twists to come, but I enjoyed the betrayal here and am curious to see how much of what happens to Scott is real or if he is living up to his name as Mister Miracle. Lots going on, lots of great artwork, some sharp, concise scripting, and the kind of humor that hits right. Another strong issue. Read Full Review

DC vs Vampires: World War V #10 is the point where this saga has hit its nadir. I'm not sure that was even possible but here we are. The only thing that scares me at this point is that there's two more issues of this dreck before I'm released from reviewing this thing. Darkseid deciding to kill an entire planet, not for strategy, not for rage, but simply to show his prisoner-son there's no one who should dare escape from him is eprfect Darkseid. Evil incarnate, even on for the most petite of reasons, but with a gigantic scale. One of his most metal moments in while.

Amazing stuff honestly. I didn't think the incorporation fo Darkseid would work at first (and it seemed to be detracting from this story), but holy sh*t this is one of the best Darkseid's we've gotten in years. Traveling all the way through the universe destroyign everything in his path and deciding Earth simply has to die because it dared be the place his son (who is also his prisoner) escaped to is just metal. Great Darkseid moment. But the thing is, vamprisim is still the main point here. Corruption, even though Mr. Miracle is a vampire he's probably the most empathetic person around and yet the other New Gods use his infection as an excuse to destroy the planet, humans and vamps alike. Kara's moment of fury at being betrayed was amazing, and it almost feels like all the efforts from humanity to save the world will keeping their humanity intact and not be corrupted are for naught, which makes me wonder what they'll do next... more
