Comicosity - Matt Santori
Apr 08, 2015In terms of the final page, and the spoiler we all pretty much expected anyway, it would be easy to write off Convergence: The Atom as a story to just quickly right an egregious wrong: a continuity fix and no more. But the story is fun, and the telling light-hearted, and that sets it apart from some of the other more serious endeavors this week. Read Full Review

Apr 15, 2015Its clear that Peyer has found a way to tell a different story with this book than relying so much on the Convergence set up. Barracuda was dispatched way too quickly for that to be the big challenge for Ray and Ryan. This focus on character makes this a real treat for fans of the DCU. Read Full Review

Apr 09, 2015There's a crazily frenetic pace that fuels one of the oddest entries of Convergence so far. While this is somewhat interesting, the changes made to the character here aren't really representative of Ray in any era. The character doesn't come off as himself at all here which makes for a less than satisfying experience. Read Full Review

Apr 10, 2015The story is a little hard to push through in the beginning, but does finish strong and offers a startling revelation at the end. My love of Ray Palmer aside, I didn't find this book particularly strong but again not completely without merit. After reading several other titles in the series, this clearly wasn't my favorite but the story will have some significance later on. For those not wanting to buy every single issue of Convergence, you can probably skip this one even with the big reveal at the end. Do some Google searches and you should be fine. Read Full Review

Apr 12, 2015This was kind of a fun story, but I've never been an Atom fan, outside of the version of Arrow. This was probably the week 1 title I had the least amount of interest in, and nothing here changed my mind. It wasn't particularly bad in any way, just nothing all that memorable. Read Full Review

Apr 10, 2015As much as I wanted The Atom to jump off the page and make me interested in this comic and Ray Palmer, the issue only left me more confused about the "rules" that are being established within this Convergence Event and wondering if things like what happened here, will be in other Convergence titles......... or if this issue is just a weird isolated incident. Odd story, dull art........... this Convergence title is just not for me. Read Full Review

Apr 11, 2015A troubling story that doesn't really do Ray Palmer justice, but at least has an upbeat cliffhanger ending… Read Full Review

Apr 13, 2015"Convergence: The Atom" #1 is hardly a deathmatch issue, nor does it particularly sell Ray Palmer or the Atom very well. Fans of Palmer, Choi or the Atom concept aren't going to find the next great epic of the Mighty Mite here. With DC pumping out so much product in the next two months around "Convergence," there are bound to be some gems, stinkers and completely forgettable tales. Nothing in "Convergence: The Atom" #1 is exceptionally memorable, and the final page introduces the most interesting concept. Hopefully, part two brings something more interesting along.
